Barnet Badger Watch Webcam

This page is made for Internet Explorer V5+

Although it is little known, there are Badger setts in the Barnet area, in March 1996, as an experiment a local wildlife society started to observe a badgers' sett using a remote CCTV placed deep inside the sett, the pictures from this cam were recorded (on-site) and made available to members to view at home.
November '97
system was upgraded in to include a radio link established between the sett and a nearby members' home, this enabled the sett to be monitored 'live' and in comfort.
March '98
attempts to connect the cam to the WWW were made, but because of incompatibilities with the equipment the system was only working 10% of the time.
April '99
a complete new system was purchased and installed, but sadly the badgers deserted the sett due to excessive disturbances.
September '99
a new sett was chosen and the view cam was installed in the main chamber (the busiest room) of the sett, we have worked hard to iron out most of the problems associated with a project of this nature and believe that this view cam is working at least 80% of the time.
